How to reach Athens

The best way to visit Greece and Athens is by plane. The International Airport of Athens is located in the region of Spata, around 30 km from the city center. It receives many domestic and international flights every day and it has a 24/7 connection with the city center and the port of Piraeus. 

Zappeion Megaron is located at the heart of Athens within walking distance of Syntagma Square and the Acropolis Museum. Access to Public Transport is easy for the visitor as main stops are within walking distance.

From Athens airport to Athens city center

By taxi

An average journey by taxi from the airport to the city center takes approximately 35-40 minutes, depending on traffic, and costs around €38-€40, (flat fare between 05.00-00.00h and around €50,- between 00.00-05.00h).

By metro/train

The airport metro/train station is in a 5-minute walking distance from the Arrival terminal, and is connected via a passageway. The tickets can be purchased from the automatic machines at the station and cost €9 for a one-way ticket and €16 for a return ticket. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Syntagma Square. Athens airport metro line 3 departs from the airport every 30 minutes from 06:30 am to 11:30 pm.

Not available parking lots at the venue, but there are various parking facilities in close proximity costing around € 6-10 per hour, with special arrangements for day use.
